Kald Kriger started as a dark acoustic nordic folk and black metal inspired side project in 2009. Over time Vredensdal gave up trying to have a cohesive band as the music he wanted to write was very specific and personal, working with others was not an option.

After his separation came the first black metal demo called "Hymne" inspired by the Kampfar demo and song. Vredensdal did not release it because he believed his sound was not yet fully developed. He then changed the band name to Kaldt Rike and released his first EP "Dark Fields" which did not succeed because of the difficulty of not having a drummer and being forced to use a drum machine.

Though Lord Mortkin performed the drums it was with complete direction and style influence by Vredensdal on exaclty how he wanted it to sound.

After a long journey Vredensdal returns to awaken the metal world with his world class debut album "A Season Of Pagan Sorrow" akin to the dark and grim roots of traditional Scandinavian black metal and the lost honest evil in black metal. Invoking his pure melancholic pagan atmosphere with cold and fast hatred and rage; Kald Kriger is finally here...
